Clips Show PKR Member Urged MB To Quit

KUALA LUMPUR: Another PKR elected representative has been caught on video apparently making disparaging remarks against his boss.

Kapar member of parliament S. Manikavasagam was left red-faced after two video clips emerged showing him allegedly urging Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to resign.

Manikavasagam also allegedly used a derogatory word when referring to Selangor state executive councillor Dr Xavier Jeyakumar.

The video clips were shown to members of the press by MIC Youth chief T. Mohan yesterday.

Mohan said they were taken during a protest on stateless Indians, organized by PKR in Putrajaya on Wednesday.

In an immediate response, Manikavasagam admitted calling for Khalid's resignation but claimed it was said out of anger due to the Batu Caves condominium and altar demolition issues.

However, he denied using any derogatory words against Xavier.

"I would never utter such words against anybody, let alone against Xavier, who is my fellow party member. I believe the individual who recorded the video edited the contents before exposing it to the public," he said, adding that he believed the video clips were recorded by an MIC member who had posed as a reporter.

Manikavasagam said he would lodge a report at the Klang Utara district police headquarters today.
